The Rev. Joshua T. Ball is the Senior Pastor of St. John Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Ray, Michigan.

 

Pastor Ball was baptized as an infant at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (Richmond, Michigan) and attended grade school there.  He attended Lutheran High School North (Macomb, Michigan), and in the early 1990s, became a charter member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church (Memphis, Michigan), which at that time had been founded as a mission of St. Peter’s to introduce a Lutheran presence in nearby Memphis.

 

Pastor Ball earned his bachelor’s degree with a major in English at Concordia University Chicago (River Forest, Illinois) and received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary (St. Louis, Missouri) in 2000.  After serving at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (Ontario, Canada), he was called back to teach theology at his high school alma mater in the fall of 2001.  After seven years, he was called to his home congregation of St. Andrew and installed as their pastor on September 7, 2008.  After nine years, he was called to St. John, where he has served as our Senior Pastor since July 2017.

 

Pastor Ball and his wife Elizabeth have five children and reside in Port Huron.



The Rev. Anthony M. Keilani is the Assistant Pastor of St. John Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Ray, Michigan.

 

Pastor Keilani, who grew up in Birmingham, Michigan, is a son of our St. John congregation.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and subsequently served as a special lecturer/lab manager in Anatomy at Oakland University (Rochester, Michigan) and taught at the University of Detroit Mercy (Detroit, Michigan).

 

Pastor Keilani attended Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, Indiana), serving his vicarage at Faith Lutheran Church (Green Bay, Wisconsin), and earning his Master of Divinity in May 2023.  Following graduation, he was called to serve as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church (Sidney, Ohio), where he was ordained on July 16, 2023.  Following his service at Redeemer, he was called as Assistant Pastor to St. John, where he was installed in August 2024.  Concurrently, he began his service teaching theology and science at Lutheran Northwest High School (Rochester Hills, Michigan).

Pastor Keilani and his wife Irene have four children and reside in Rochester Hills.
